These are interview tips Mynavi KOREA headhunter gave me via email.

Even if it is seemed to be ordinary, it would be helpful to identify some personality traits what the interviewer like.

Interview tips:

The trend nowadays when it comes to job interviews is behavioral questions (behavioral questions are usually the most difficult interview questions to answer; therefore, I'm providing tips on answering behavioral questions. However, other interview questions, such as resume-based questions, are equally important to prepare for). Behavioral questions are asked by interviewers to predict the future performance of a candidate based on their past performance. Typically with behavioral questions, the best way to answer is the STAR method.

·  S=Situation. The interviewer wants you to present a challenge or situation which you found yourself in.

·  T=Task. What were you required to achieve? The interviewer is looking to see what you were trying to accomplish.

·  A=Action. What did you do? The interviewer is looking for information on what you did, why you did it, and what the alternatives were.

·  R=Result. What was the outcome(s) of your action(s)? What did you achieve and did you meet the goals/objectives? What did you learn from this experience?

Here are some sample behavioral questions:

·  "Tell me about how you worked effectively under pressure."

·  "Did you ever make a risky decision? Why? How did you handle it?"

You may also be asked behavioral questions such as "What is an example of a goal that you failed to meet?" or "Name a time when you were chosen to complete a task and ended up failing."

With these behavioral questions, it is very important to describe what you learned from failing and how you implemented what you learned from that failure into completing future tasks. Always end your answers to interview questions on a positive note. Have several stories of past work experiences in mind when answering these questions. Avoid answering these types of behavioral questions with something like "Well, I can’t think of any serious failures. I guess I’ve been fortunate to be pretty successful in most of my positions so far." With this type of answer, interviewers may think you don't take smart risks or that you may be hiding something from your past.

Also, standard interview questions (such as resume-based questions [your time in university, questions about your career, etc], questions about the company, industry, etc.) are of equal importance when it comes to preparing for an interview. Please take time to research the company, the industry, etc. And also, prepare the best answers about your resume (meaning your work experience, educational background, language abilities, etc.)

Make sure to find a quiet place without any distractions, and speak clearly and persuasively. Prepare for the phone interview just as you would prepare for an in-person interview. The interview will be conducted mainly in Chinese and some in English, so make sure to prepare speaking in both languages.
